The cast-iron, gas-fueled aga stove was set into a niche finished in brick veneer selected to resemble an old fireplace. For "an old farmhouse look," mellow walnut-stained knotty pine cabinetry was custom-fabricated by Mitchells' Woodworking and antique heart pine flooring from North Carolina was interwoven with original floorboards along the sitting room border.
